Our 2011 Fundraising Dinner was a success! Nearly 500 guests attended the event including Mayor Gregor Robertson and Minister of Heatlh Michael de Jong. The Minister presented a proclamation from the Province of British Columbia naming September 2011 as “Cops for Cancer Month”. The event supported CIES, Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley, and the UBC Asian Studies Punjabi Program.
CIES donated $25,000 to UBC Asian Studies Department, $15,000 to the Canadian Cancer Society, and $5,000 to the BC Cancer Foundation.
