Babar Karam Singh Village Improvement Trust Partnership
In 2013, CIES enlisted the Babar Karam Singh Village Improvement Trust for management of the Dhahan Village Improvement Project (done in partnership with the Dhahan village council (i.e., the “gram panchayat”).

The Bara Karam Singh Village Improvement Trust is a non-profit organization that does most of its work in Daulatpur village (located in Punjab, India).
The organization has expertise in the area of infrastructure projects. It was able to help CIES with the Dhahan village project’s management and administration.
All engineering and design work for the Dhahan project were done under the direction of the Babar Karam Singh Village Improvement Trust.
The partnership came about because prior to this project, a similar one in Daulatpur Village, valued at nearly $400,000, was completed by the Babar Karam Singh Village Improvement Trust with the support of CIES (through fundraising efforts). It was also a sewer and lane paving project.
The projects were separate initiatives that both partook of the Non Resident Indian (NRI) matching grant program by the State government.
